Bobby Lashley signing into MMA?

Hey y'all!

I was down at Stats in Atlanta and I saw Bobby Lashley wearing an American Fight League shirt. I saw that he was training for MMA. I guess maybe he's signing? What do you think?

Hey welcome to the Forum. Who is Bobby Lashley?

nicolemmagirl 05-19-2008 11:31 AM

Thanks!

He's a WWE star who was just released. I'm curious to see what he brings to the table!

He's a former WWE star like nicole say, but he also is an accomplished wrestler, pretty much like Lesnar:

-Armed Forces Championship (2 times)
-CISM World Championship Silver Medalist in 2002
-Missouri Valley College National Championship in 1996, 1997, and 1998
-NAIA National Wrestling Championship in 1997 and 1998

For those who don't watch WWE or is unfamiliar with who Bobby Lashley is. Let's just say he a black Brock Leasnar, actually when he debuted in WWE fans were calling him Black Leasnar.

Here's a pic.

anyone knows at which weightclass did Bobby Wrestle? he seemed pretty heavyweight at WWE but with steroids you never know, and after he got suspended or injured or something, he was looking considerably smaller.

His Wikipedia says he's at 273 LBS, so heavy weight for sure.

ya but thats wikipedia
and was it when he was in WWE because theyre obviously not going to put up the real weight
and look at lesnar i mean hes still absolutely huge but a lot smaller since his WWE days

Anyone want to hazard a guess on how he'd do?

Pyros 05-19-2008 04:54 PM

He has potential for sure, but it's difficult to tell right now, he started training recently right? The only thing bad is that he's already 31 so he probably won't have his first fight until he's 32-33 I guess (if he's something like Brock), so he would be a little old, but he would draw quite a few fans, not as much as Brock because he was not as big in the WWE, but enough to make him worth signing by the UFC or EliteXC. If he finally decides about getting in MMA, last I heard he's also considering going to TNA.
