I wouldn't say it is Fedor's toughest match-up.
I know Choi Hong Man isn't an MMA fighter but really, he's bigger than Sylvia and I'd even say that he's the better striker. Both have little to no ground game however, I'm sure Sylvia's is significantly better than Hong Man's. If this fight hits the ground, it'll be over anyways.
Stylistically, I'd say Fedor has got this in the bag.
After this fight, I'd love to see Sylvia take on Aleksander.
Tim Sylvia has faster hands than Hong Man Choi. Choi has the power, but he's far too lethargic with his punches, in contrast Tim Sylvia's hands are not only powerful, but they're surprisingly fast considering his size.
I agree, people tend to think that good sprawl = good TDD overall, but he's certainly vulnerable to trips and throws, and that's the sort of takedwons that Fedor uses, IMO it's a bad matchup for Tim.
I was one of the few people around here pointing that out about Sylvia prior to his fight with Nogueira, as Randy and Vera exploited Tim's inherent weakness to leg trips. Fedor goes for hip throws inside the bodylock/clinch, and it'll be easier for him to take Tim down against the ropes.
After this fight Barnett and Fedor will probably happen (if they both win, that's what Barnett said on inside MMA). That's gonna be insane too.
That's a fight that should have happened yeaaaaars ago.. hopefully it happens.
