Murilo "Ninja" Rua's Ground Game.

Anyone else think Ninja's ground game is seriously underrated? He has a good guard, can get out of bad positions really well, constantly goes for subs and a solid top game. While Shogun just loves to pound the hell out of guys, Ninja likes to sub them. Both guys have very good ground games, both guys use them a tad differently.

Ninja really should just use his striking to set-up takedowns, because to be honest, his striking is sloppy. His ground game, however, is smooth stuff. There was one point where I thought that he'd be using his ground game more, like in the Otsuka fight, where he tooled him on the ground, but nowadays, man, I don't know.

So yeah, anyone else feel that his ground game is underrated, and that he'd be way more successful if he uses it more? Dude has some swank leg-locks.

OMG! I was just thinking this last week. AGREE, AGREE, AGREE!

His striking is VERY SLOPPY. The Chute Box style is much better suited for Japan (Stomps, Soccerkicks, Knees on Ground). If he wants to do well in North America he needs to focus on his ground game.
