James Thompson's Strategy??
What are the odds that Thompson will come out against Kimbo and immediately shoot for the takedown or attempt a clinch and trip or something to get the fight to the ground? And lets say hypthotically he does this and actually gets the fight to the ground, what will Kimbo's immediate reaction be, do you guys think he'll scramble like a scared puppy or doing you think he'll pull guard and remain calm? Just curious.

I think there's a pretty good chance he will do that, that's what he tried to do against Brett Rogers after all, but Kimbo is smaller than Rogers and I think Thompson will be able to take him down, once it hits the ground we'll see if Kimbo can live up to his hype for once, which I think he will not and will be TKOd (I'm praying that Kimbo loses lol).

As am I. I'm hoping that Thompson takes him down so we can see something different in a Kimbo fight. Thompson has the power to knock him out but if he stands and trades I'm afraid he'd definitely be the first to get caught.

I'm rooting for Thompson but I expect he'll follow the game plan he has all his life.
1) Charge opponent.
2) Swing wildly.
3) Wake up a while later and collect paycheque.

Come on, against Rogers he tried to take him down, and he sounds like he has a plan to beat Kimbo, why do you think he will try to swing instead of taking him down?

Two things.
1) I just don't think he can resist trading. Even when he knows it is better to go to ground, once the fight starts it is very easy to revert to what you do best (I use the term "best" loosely here). He'll also probably think that "Hey, I tried the takedown last time and got KFTO anyway so why bother?"
2) Shaw won't allow Kimbo to lose yet. He's made no bones about babying Kimbo and that means choosing opponents who have been paid off outright or are so hopeless that they can't possibly win (or in Cantrell's case, both).
Hate aside, Thompson is a small step up (assuming no bribe) and I hope he wins, I'm rooting for him. I really hope he has enough sense to take it to the mat but....
I put 6k on Kimbo.

QFT. Watch his fight with Aleks E., it will be a repeat of that.
