On Monday I broke my rib in BJJ training. My opponent (265lbs) was trying to pass my guard, and as he did so I turned my hips the opposite way to go for a heel hook and he landed on me. My 3rd rib from the top on the left side is cracked from my armpit to about 2 inches from the sternum. I thought it was just a bruised muscle, but I went to the doc to get x-rays and he found the break. Unfortunatly, the healing time is a minimum of 4 weeks he said if I'm a fast healer and I take it easy. I have a fight coming up on Nov 11th and if I do get a release it'll only be 2 days before the fight, so I'm not even sure if I'll even get to make it, since I won't be able to train. I'm also worried because I've made some good progress in the gym and with my weights, muay-thai and BJJ, and I don't want it to go to waste. I have worked my ass off for this fight and I'm just devistated now, plus I could've used the extra money.
Any words of encouragement or advice on what to do, or if you've been in this situation, what you did. I am so upset about it. I don't want to sit at home and gain weight or lose any of my muscle development. I am so used to training everyday, and I lived for it. I went to the gym yesterday anyway to watch others train and I sat in the steam room for a while, but I'm so bummed out.

P.S. NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER sneeze with a broke rib! I did, and I though that the hand of God had come down on me.
