"I think there might be less pressure than in my other recent fights. My other fights were against guys that were skilled, but not very well known. I think people had expectations that I would dominate those fighters. Subsequently, I felt a lot pressure to excel and ended up forcing the fight. In a fight like this, I can relax and let the fight come to me."

"At the end of the night, I will be the EliteXC welterweight champion."

His thoughts on the Novell Bell and Maoshan beef...

"I don’t know enough about them to care one way or the other, but I do think that mixed martial arts is the truest test of a fighting discipline and I'm willing to test that hypothesis against those who claim otherwise."

"I've talked to Ben and I am willing to try and work something out after my fight with Shields."

Nick Thompson is ugly as shit and mad underrated. Looking forward to this fight, well granted Sheilds doesn't win via 25 minute position.

Yeah, Thompson really is underrated. Really good fighter, and I'll be rooting for him, since I find him more entertaining than Shields. But, I think Shields will take this by decision. Shields is just relentless and his top positioning is just so damn good. Thompson has the stand-up advantage and can work off his back really well.

But yeah, Shields by decision.
