Who is the the #2 MMA Promotion

Simple question we all know that the UFC is the #1, but who is the #2 promotion, is it Dream a.k.a Pride V2.0, is it Affliction with stacked cards but poor production or is it Elite XC with great production, and a network TV deal, or is it Strikeforce arguably one of the only promotions who seem to be doing the impossible and making money?

For the moment, I gotta go with DREAM. The Grand Prixs are great and add a level of excitement that has been sorely missed for a while. Their production is top notch, they have lots of well-established fighters, and Bas rockin' the commentary.

Affliction has some serious potential if they can lock up the big names for more than just a couple of fights along with stepping up their production value. EliteXC and StrikeForce are already seen as "the minors" and will likely remain that way to the casual fan. Remember: to the average North American, it's still "ultimate fighting" NOT MMA.

DREAM has the added advantage of not having to compete with the UFC on its own turf. It is essentially filling the void left behind by PRIDE's demise. DREAM has its own unique flavour and isn't simply trying to duplicate the UFC product and put its own stamp on it as the North American promotions seem to be doing.

Maybe it's just personal bias speaking, because I really, really like DREAM. Is it too soon to call it love? I'm considering seeking out expert opinion on the matter.

Now if we are talking about which promotion is most known than it is Elite XC. If we are talking about the promotion with the most talent is Affliction or Dream however if we are talking about which promotion is having the most success it is without a doubt Strikeforce.

Strikeforce is doing what is thought to be impossible making money in their 2nd year. Everyone else seems to be throwing money away and Strikeforce just seems to do everything right ATM.

It is Elitexc. I think they have a bad name cause of Kimbo Slice, but they'll dump him into the pit soon enough.

I'm going with DREAM. That is a great venue. I have to say though Elite XC is really shaping up fast. Where is the WEC?

You can make an argument that Dream is very well known too, just not in the USA. I'm sure it's getting pretty huge in Japan if not already.

I'm going with DREAM, mainly because it's the only MMA organization that has stepped up and started to fill the void Pride left. The talent pool is deep, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them take over/merge with World Victory Road, making the pool even deeper.

I say dream, i don't think Affliction will be around much longer and Elite/strike force doesn't have a big group of top notch fighters.
