Jesse "the Body" Ventura believes MMA matches are works
Quote:

Howard talked to Jesse about fights that he's had before and if he's punched a guy out before. Jesse said that he doesn't believe the fights that are on TV. He said that fights on the street are over in 30 seconds and those TV fights last for 25 minutes. He said that they're working stiff as far as he's concerned.

This saddens me, as I have had a lot of respect for a lot of other things this guy said.

A former WWF(or WWE or ABC whatever the hell it is) wrestler is claiming something else is fake? The irony is unbelievable.
Man I liked "The Body" before this. boo

Yeah I listened to that interview yesterday, very long but really good. Then when he said that, I almost switched channels. One of his quotes was "In real street fights they last 30 seconds, these go on for 25 minutes!"
Not every fight goes on for 25 minutes Jesse, it's a thing called grappling, not everyone is a slugger trying to knock someone out. I think he just doesn't know much about the sport. He is apparently going to be on Bubba The Love Sponge fairly soon, Bubba, Brent, and Spice will set him straight on this point no doubt about that.

If time is the determining factor, he must think boxing is fake, too. But not those Toughman competitions with the one-minute-rounds. Those guys are elite level fighters.
The Body also believes that K-1 is a hotspot for mountain climbing, and that muay thai is a little on the spicy side(but that's just the way he likes it!).

Boxing has way thicker and more padded gloves, which allows the fighters to withstand and take much more punishment than an MMA fighter wearing 5 oz gloves would.

He obviously haven't tried to GnP omeone with a good guard or punching/kicking someone who actually has some defense

No doubt. But boxing is based ENTIRELY on the amount of punishment delivered(almost exclusively) to the head. You don't see many MMA fights with a guy eating 100+ headshots.
Wasn't it Kenny who once said in an interview(CNN?) that he's probably taken less power punches to the head in his entire career than you see guys take in a single boxing match?
And we all know Kenny's taken A LOT of shots to the head.

Oooh I'm sorry I looked past those ones. I bet it takes MANY worked punches to knock out Hogan or Snuka.
I apologize for my disrespect towards his fake accomplishments.

It's amazing that somebody who dealt for much of their career in workedmatches can't tell the difference between a shoot and a work.
