Amar Suloev!

Seriously, he's a crazy Armenian, who loves to punch fools in the face! How can anyone not love that? His striking is really good and his takedown defense is solid. It seems like he just vanished after signing with Bodog, which is a shame, because the UFC, Elite XC, DREAM etc would all be good homes for the guy.

Ah yeah, I love me some Suloev.

Discuss.

His striking is so good that he took one of the best strikers of all time in the weight class above his natural one (Chuck) to a decision when Chuck was giving people the business and he was clowning Chuck during the fight because Chuck didn't really want a whole lot to do with him.

He has one bad loss in his career (Darrel Gholar), and the others are to: Sonnen, Kang, Filho, Baroni, Liddell and Semenov. Wins over Semenov, Busta and Okami. Definitely underrated. Plus he always makes fights fun.

Good thread Damone, haven't thought about Amar in a long time.

Good mention about the Chuck fight. Yep, Suloev definitely hung in there against Liddell standing. Dude's a MW and he gave Chuck a tough fight.

Yeah, he's only lost to really good fighters (Hey, Baroni was no slouch back then). Gholar, yeah, but that was early in his career and Gholar was a pretty good greco guy.

You know, I want to see Suloev strut around with a cigar in his mouth again. I also want to see him be cornered by sleazy looking Armenian dudes again. He's too talented. I mean, shit, he's only about 32, he's still young.

He looked really good against Bustamante, showing excellent takedown defense and even more excellent striking. Bustamante just didn't know what to do with the guy.

Here is an interview with the coach of the red devil team.

This question is quite interesting, seems he's training hard, let's hope some org scoops him up.

Code:
What prospects do the fighters have in this club?

I am absolutely sure that nobody but our fighters have such a base in Russia – there is no such a base nor in mixfight, nor in boxing, nor in wrestling nor in *****.

Once I saw something like that at discovery channel – there is a boxing base in Mexico where people live and train.

And we have such possibilities and proposes for such fighters as Fedor and Alexander Emelyanenko, Roman Zentsov and Amar Suloev that we can not avoid a great success.

Everything works well in our club under the leadership of Vadim Grigoryevich Finkelstein. I repeat, we can not avoid success.

His fight with Baroni is awesome. I was almost worried Baroni sucked, but it turned out he was just luring him into a false sense of security to pound him to death against the cage.

Him getting one arm choked against Kang is lol.

Suloev is a great fighter. I can't recall too well but i remember Suloev winning the Baroni fight until the ref did something.
