Marine to MMA

Hello All. Just started at a local gym and wanted to gain knowledge/opinions of those that know more.

I was looking for a base to expand other techniques around. Would Boxing or wrestling be the best? Hard to decide if I want to do Boxing with BJJ and Wrestling wrapped around that.

also where do I get a good mouth piece? Do you really need the custom ones?

Any insight would be wonderful

My phylosophy is to learn as much as you can. Get at least a little exposure to everything.

I was an amature boxer and high school wrestler and have transitioned more to Muay Thai and BJJ.

www.fightdentist.com for a custom one. You don't need a custom guard but you will be more comfortable with one. You can even talk with it in. I guess they also offer a bit more protection.

the mouthguard looks like a good investment.

Anyone else want to chime in?
