Masakazu Imanari WINS!!!
http://www.sherdog.com/news/articles...ack-belt-14077
"TOKYO -- Deep’s first bantamweight championship bout between Masakazu Imanari (Pictures) and Hiroshi Umemura (Pictures) didn’t get out of the first minute Sunday at Korakuen Hall.
Imanari, known as the Ashikan Judan, lived up to his nickname by putting away the jiu-jitsu black belt at a mere 29 seconds into the Deep 37 main event. After a missed Imanari middle kick, Umemura circled back to the center of the ring, obviously not expecting Imanari to go for his usual baseball slide into a foot lock.
Once Imanari had the foot, however, Umemura’s face twisted into a grimace of pain. He tapped to the heel hook but not before sustaining considerable damage.
“Somehow I won today, but before long, I think I’ll want to fight in a place one step up from here,” Imanari told the crowd while Umemura limped out of the ring. “Please cheer me on.”'
Hell yes, this was Imanari's debut at 135 and he smoked a fool with ease. Masakazu, get your ass to the WEC. You vs Torres would be swank.
Oh my.
Discuss.

Imanari via leg lock? What else than WAR IMANARI!!!
Imanari is seriously awesome and sooo exiting to wtch, since you know that a leg lock can come any minute of the fight! I'd love to see Imanari vs. Torres, since it would be very fun and they have very different styles of fighting. Heck, Imanari has a style different from EVERYONE!

Where do I watch/find out about DEEP? I never even knew this dude was fighting. He's my favourite 135/145er, just ahead of KID.

I was so happy to see this result. I loved that in the article they pretty much called Umemura a fool for not being ready for the baseball slide -> leg lock combo.
Imanari is just plain awesome, and I love that every time he fights he makes it look like they waxed the ring the way he slides around. No shame in losing to a FW Mishima, but glad to see Kazu back on the winning track.
Also, seeing him in the WEC would be the goods. Great picture by the way.

So he's one of you favorite fighters, but you don't know about DEEP? Most of his fights are in DEEP man.
Imanari is a great lighter weight fighter. I've heard great things about him, but have only seen 3-4 of his fights. I will be sure to watch out for this guy. The heel hook on Jean Silva was wild.

Imanari = leglocky goodness.
His fight with Jean Silva is one of my faves of the year so far. When a Cage Rage fight is worthy of praise, you know it's the real deal.
Too bad most people only remember him for getting smacked into oblivion by Hellboy's knee. Still made for a damn good hilight though.
MMA needs more swanky leglocks and more badasses capable of applying said swanky leglocks.
"Imanari" is even fun to say. Names that begin and end with the same letter are seriously underrated.
