Im a long term wrestling fan(17 years)and like many other fans i was intrigued when MMA exploded on to the scene but i have to say every fight ive watched or at least tried to watch has bored me senseless, the 2 fighters spend 99% of the fight almost motionless where they lock each other in holds and it leaves me wondering what is so exciting about this?? Is there something im missing because i know this sport is really popular and i really want to be a fan of it!!

You're not going to see any dramatic storylines in MMA, nor will you see fighters jumping off the top rope or hitting thier opponent with a chair.

What you will see is real fights involving martial artists of the highest level. Some fights will be boring, some will be OK and others will be great.

If you want exciting fights I suggest checkin out these....

Just a few off the top of my head that have lots of action, you can find most of these fights on Youtube or Dailymotion. If you still don't like MMA after watching these fights than you should probably take Damone's advice and stick to The Wrasslin.

I used to find myself bored watching this stuff as well. I only liked the fights where the guys slugged it out. After I educated myself and learned what was actually happening while they were "lying motionless" I have learned to love this thing of ours. Watch more fights. Start out with the action filled slugfests, then watch the technical grappling and jiu jitsu. It is amazing to watch when you know something of what is going on.

I don't want to bash on you so here goes, TV wrestling is alot different then MMA in that they have story lines, drama unfolds, and pretty much alot of what MMA doesn't have. Also it's fake, yup that pretty much sums it up , it's fake. While as MMA may sometimes be hyped with "bad blood" or anything similar to that,the thing no one is predetermined to win, and you are really getting hit, submitted, and worked on. Also, some fights may seem boring but in fact are pretty strategic if you understand the person's background, and if you understand something about the different styles then it becomes even more interesting to watch.

I use to be just a WWE fan too. You have to realize one thing off the bat you cant compare the 2 there completely diffrent. MMA is real fighting the WWE is a soap opera with a very athletic cast. Having said that I'm still a fan of the WWE.



The thing with MMA is sometimes when you have two really skilled well matched opponents the fight will turn into more of a physical chest match. By chest match i mean the fighters will be looking 2 or possibly 3 steps ahead and will be looking to capitalize on their opponents mistakes just like in chess. The cool thing is even with all of this strategy involved and even if you have the perfect gameplan for an opponent you still could find yourself getting helped to your feet by a trainer because you just got caught with a Head kick that you never saw coming (UFC 70 Mirko Cro Cop vs Gabriel Gonzaga).
