Rogers to face winner of Slice/Shamrock

In addition, EliteXC officials have invited Rogers to sit ringside for the October 4th card to get a better a look at his next opponent (like he really needs it). Earlier today, Sherdog.com reported that Ken Shamrock has agreed to face Slice in Fort Lauderdale and we have also been able to confirm with multiple sources that this news report is in fact correct. EliteXC VP Jared Shaw would not confirm nor deny both reports. My quick two cents: I think this was the best match EliteXC could make. Sure, Shamrock has lost five fights in a row and hasn't won in four years but he still appeals to that casual sports fan EliteXC sorely needs to attract on October 4th. As for Rogers, this news has to sting as he lobbied long and hard for a shot at Slice, but at the end of the day he will either face a living legend or the man he so covets. Kind of a win-win if you ask me.

Great news since Kimbo is probably going to win, I wonder if he should ask for a fight though so he doesn't get rusty though.

I don't think having Kimbo fight Rogers is a good idea. Rogers isn't a big name not only to casual fans but he's not even a big name with Hardcore fans.

Kimbo vs Rogers is a horrible idea.

Wow looks like kimbo is really stepping up in the competition, fighting a Very washed up Lightheavyweight.

Rogers will finally expose Kimbo.

(I am not a hater but he needs to stay grounded till he is acually good)

I believe Kimbo said that he is just getting started and is defiantly not a top fighter yet. That sounds grounded to me.

O of course Elite XC hypes him up way to much. I just hate when people attack Kimbo for things he had nothing to do with.

That will be a lot of hype to waste on Rogers. Damn, I hope Antonio Silva gets his shit straightened out so he can eat Kimbo alive or something.

EXC needs to make Rogers a star if the match is to happen. That's what a promotion is for, to promote fights. The UFC made Jon Fitch look like a star for the GSP match, he was only known to the hardcore MMA fans before, everyone knows him now. Don't blame Rogers or the fans if he's not a star, its the promotions fault.

Right kick, Hospital.
Left kick, Cemetery.

70seven how about the fact that unless you have a big name or have done something it's hard to turn people into a star. Kimbo was a star, Carano was a star. Fitch had gone 8-0 and he still isn't a huge name even after the hype the UFC put behind him.

Rogers isn't going to be a star because he hasn't done anything.
