The Ratings for the Oct. 4 Card are going to be terrible!

I have no clue what those buttholes at EXC and CBS are thinking!

They blamed the crappy ratings of the last show on the absence of Carano and Kimbo...

Well, there was absolutely NO promotion for that event. Nobody's going to watch it if nobody knows about it.

Same with this card, you can put all the big names you want on a fight card, but if you don't let people know it's happening, they won't watch.

These guys are in the promotion business, I find it hard to believe they don't realize this.

I have to keep checking back at this board to remind myself of the date these fights come on. There are no advertisements on CBS (that I have seen, anyway).

WTF is going on? Is CBS just intent on getting out of the fight business or has EXC completely given up and accepted their fate to die by 2009?

I would like to see EXC stick around for their women's division if nothing else, but they are doing a piss poor job of taking advantage of an astronomical opportunity being broadcast on CBS.

Spend some money on advertising, you A-Holes! Just because Kimbo and Carano are on the card doesn't mean the whole country magically knows about it.

I'm really irritated with this. Just about anyone from this board could run the business better than this.

You're absolutly right stitch1z. It's sad to see EliteXC sabotaging itself. With out good advartising they will never reach their full potential in ratings.

maybe they are trying to wind up as soon as posible if they go all but effectively under they might be able to entice some buyers for certain assets like fighter contracts, video library etc. kinda like the IFL did

They will get some money thencut their losses and run, rather than drag it out.

Thanks to Plazz for the awesome sig

You forget that this isn't just some brutal sport where everyones out to kill each other. Its much more like a game of physical chess.-looney liam

I think that CBS doesn't get mma. So after bad numbers at the last show, I think they want out. If the ratings are bad again they cancel Elite XC's contract.

Agree, Kimbo can draw in the casual MMA fans, but they need to know he's fighting.

well, first off.... how in the world do they expect huge ratings with no promotion for a show at 12am? I was half asleep that night and was flipping channels and suddenly realized it was on.

If you were partnered with EXC, wouldn't you be?
