Holy **** amazing submission from Ishida at PBM event

You don't get to see armbars like this too often these days:

I got home around 11 pulled up Sherdog and was kinda watching it a little here and there. Luckly I saw this live and OMG it was amazing.

Ishida is a beast can't wait for Ishida vs Thomson.

I totally didn't expect that, I knew he was going to win, but that was beautiful. I just watched it and the Riggs/Misaki fight.. wtf was the ref doing? Riggs was defending himself.

Yeah, it was a quality sub, great to watch.

The reason we don't see that too much these days is because good fighters against good fighters, hence why Ishida normally goes to decision.

We gotta remember who his opponent was in this, and remember that his last fight before this, was a poor one from Ishida's point of view.

The other armbar that springs to mind, is Marcus Aurelio's one against Ryan Roberts.. Similar in coolness and also standard of opponent.

Ishida vs. Thompson is going to rock though. ATM, I think Thompson will (T)KO him.

Will be rooting for Ishida.

EDIT: Yeah that's bullcrap reffing.

Fedor fights I want to see..

Fedor vs. Josh Barnett
Fedor vs. Randy Couture
Fedor vs. Tim Sylvia - DEMOLISHED
Fedor vs. Andrei Arlovski - DEMOLISHED

hmmmmm, i wonder how many become reality..

Yeah, standard of opponent definitely applies here for sure. But I have to say that I love when elite fighters make average fighters look shitty, it really just goes to show how they're on another level completely.

I'd like to see more people roll with the kimura though. I find a lot of guys that end up locking it up, don't try to finish with it, they'd rather use it as a dummy submission to cause their opponent to pull-out of the clinch, or simply to use it as a sweep, rather than a sweep into an armbar.

Definitely one of the swankest armbars I've seen this year though.

Horrible stoppage in Riggs vs Misaki but I really want to see Misaki vs Cung because unlike Frank Misaki will try to take Cung down and I think he will beat him.

I nearly crapped myself when I saw that. The commentator kept saying how Ishida is a submission expert, and I wen't "Really? Since when?" Then BOOM he slaps on a sick armbar. Very Sakuraba-esque.

It's good to see someone get taken to school every now and again. Shows you how amazing top-tier fighters really are. Puts it all in perspective.

When the ref first jumped in, I wasn't even sure I saw a tap. Then on the replay you see Wilcox tap before he even gets rolled over. Damn.

Definitely on par with the armbar Aurelio got a while back.

My milkshake brings all the girls to the barn.

MOO!
