I hope he's been hitting the treadmill a couple of times since Franklin used his sloppy body for kicking practice. If he just wasn't so damn lazy he'd be an excellent fighter.
Wow- I am very surprised that he gets to make his return in the UFC. I would have thought he would have to fight in some smaller orgs before getting a shot back in the UFC. Let's see if he doesn't gas during his walk to the cage prefight.
True, but he did pretty damn good against Anderson for being so out of shape. He was a hair away from beating Silva once he mounted him near the end of the first round. If he had not gone for that tired sloppy arm bar and kept punching instead he could have won that fight. He has been the closest to beating Anderson yet.
Anyway, I don't care to see Lutter gas in another fight. I've lost so much respect for that guy and I don't care if he never fights professionally again. If he can go the distance and not gas in this fight, maybe I'll reconsider. But for now, I hope he gases, loses, and gets the boot (again) from the UFC.
Middleweight Joe Doerksen (40-12) has verbally agreed to square off against Travis Lutter (9-5) in November. Due to a misunderstanding, MM-Eh initially reported that the bout was expected to take place at UFC 91, but Doerksen has since clarified that the fight is expected for a non-UFC event in Texas. Contracts have not yet been signed, Doerksen said, but it was Lutter’s camp that requested the matchup.
I like Joe so I want him to win but what people fail to realize is that while Lutter is a fat cow-man he is a very good fat cow-man. I mean if he had a little striking and any cardio the guy would be close to unstoppable. And even without those things he's still really good.
I mean if he had better GnP and Cardio he could've finished both Franklin and Anderson instead of going for Armbars.
I actually like this fight. Doerksen doesn't have boring fights and Lutter's a good fighter in the first 5 minutes. Should be a fun grappling fight.
