You can give excuses if you want but can't dispute the facts. Jake Sheilds is a danger to any WW fighter.
First I thought before the Daley fight that Shields could be #2 in the welter weight division. After the fight I simply can't see him beating most of the top 10. Even with his incredible submission ability, he apparently can't hurt anyone with his GNP. Also I just rewatched the Okami fight, imo Shields did not win, and I don't think an Elite XC title really means that much. Shields has a bit of problem. How can he prove he belongs in the welterweight elite? All the top ten in the WW division are in the UFC, and we know that Dana is never going to cross-promote. So Shields' options are to move up in weight class or leave elite xc. I don't think Shields has the size or strength to fight Lawler or Lindland. Unfortunately I think to prove himself, he needs to move on.
