Anyone else not surprised?
So uhh, I heard Ken was out. Heard this kid Petruzelli was fighting instead, looked him up on wikipedia. Then I thought, wow Kimbo is going to get rocked quite easily. The funniest part about it was how the announcer was saying it was the biggest upset ever.

I wasnt too suprised... this Petruzelli kid was a full contact champion in Karate... so I knew he had standup to hang with Kimbo... but its easy to see why he didnt do well with the TUF fighters of UFC either..they're more rounded.... with him throwing those weak front kicks like that at Kimbo...anyone else in MMA other than Kimbo would've took advantage of it for the sweep or take down... let's just face it Kimbo sucks and has a long way to go before he can contend with the top heavyweights...or in tonight's case..not even with the top light heavy weights...

I called the win for Petruzelli in the Kimbo vs Petruzelli thread on this very forum over an hour before the fight happened. I've seen many of Petruzelli's fights, the Severn fight in particular made me think he could handle a much heavier and possible stronger opponent without worries, and I figured it would be by strikes since his sub skills are virtually nil.

oh yeah, you are absolutely right. Those kicks would have got him knocked out in a flash in the UFC against any one of their decent fighters. But when I realized that Kimbo was fighting someone who wasn't a complete can it occurred to me that he was done. The most important part of any mma fighters arsenal is speed. Anderson Silva, GSP , Fedor, they aren't the strongest in their weight class but they rely more on their speed and accuracy. They have fast hands and move fast, Kimbo is slow and because of that he'll never be able to do well no matter how hard he hits.

I'm not surprised at all, I mean I'm not a huge fan of Kimbo or a hater, so seeing him loose didn't make me feel good but the thing is he needed this because over his 3 fights I never saw him improve at all so maybe this will make him think, now that it's not super undefeated Kimbo I think that he can do things properly as well and not just beat on shit fighters and old men. Also Petruzelli had a good fight I think that he new what he could get away with fighting Kimbo, realistically Kimbo was never going to shoot in for those legs and he showed how somebody who's not a world class fighter could easily over through Kimbo by using technique.

This shows those people who ranked Kimbo in the top 10 for heavyweights. Where did those people rank Seth? I knew when Kimbo met a rounded fighter, under the age of 50, he would get beat. If James Thompson would have kept working on the ground, he probably could have ended up with a win as well.

The only thing I was surprised about was Frank Shamrock disrespecting his brother and family. I could not believe that he dogged Ken for training hard.

I wish... I don't get CBS
So i had to watch all the fights after the fact. And like 2 people called me "kimbo got knocked the **** out".
Would have been nice to watch live.
