Tomato Cans for Seth "The Silverback" Petruzelli

Well, it finally happened! What EliteXC feared would happen, finally happened. Kimbo Slice got destroyed! Now this puts them in a weird situation because the man who destroyed him was an Ultimate Fighter Reject that is not marketable.

You all remember what Seth was like on TUF 2. He was critized for not having any heart because he played it safe against Dan Christianson and broke down in his fight against Brad Imes. When he got beat by Imes he started crying like crazy. Then there was that boring fight he had against Matt Hamill! This is what EliteXC has to work with here.

So how can they make this guy more marketable? Its not like they can make a commercial where they show Seth destroying Kimbo, the man who is the face of MMA, in just 14seconds then run it at another EliteXC CBS televised event! I think the only way to make Seth marketable and keep the Kimbo hype alive is to make him look like a force. Which means they would have to find tomato cans for Seth! This way they can make it look like Kimbo didn't lose to some chump but an elite level fighter (of course we all know better). Then they can hype the shit out of the rematch!

So, if you were EliteXC who would you throw to Seth to make him look good in front of the fans?

They can only go so far feeding Seth stylistic match-ups that favor him because at the end of the day he's an average fighter who will in all likelihood get destroyed by Feijao at 205, and blitzed by Antonio Silva at HW. Not a far cry from what they were doing with Kimbo. At least when your Chuck Liddell's, Matt Hughes', Tito Ortiz's lose, they're dropping fights to marketable fighters. Seth Petruzelli virtually came out of nowhere, and to the majority of the casual public, was a no-name dude that defeated their marketing machine.

They don't need to. He'll go against a good LHW, get beat and be forgotten about. They'll just go ahead with Kimbo vs Ken.

I don't think that Kimbo will be fighting Shamrock next. I think Elite XC actually believes that Kimbo has skills. I think there will be a rematch, and Kimbo will get beat again.
