Afflictions partnership with Golden Boy will kill them, they have grossly overestimated the ammount of crossover fans, I dont care for boxing so I wont be watching and many boxing fans dont care for MMA and wont watch,Affliction will be dead before the snow melts, Dream I think will survive slightly longer but is destined to return to the status of K-1 heroes.

I think Affliction is also (or was) overpaying fighters and I agree that they aren't going to last although I think they might make it through another year. Agree about Dream and in the long run I think it is good for MMA to consolidate all the best under one banner.

Like EliteXC, Affliction is trying to make it big way too fast. For instance, they assumed that just because they have Donald Trump money purse and some of the top fighters in the business they would be an instant success. They didn't account that Fedor and Josh Barnett aren't that well known to the casual fans and that is who they have to appeal to.

No Brainer

This is a no brainer for me. I prefer to see 1 promotion at the professional, and several at the amature level. As you correctly stated in your thread starter - multiple belts is killing boxing. UFC is the big dog on the block and I hope it stays that way. I personally do not enjoy seeing people like Donald Trump getting involved in MMA as he - no doubt - sees it only as an investment. There are too many Micky Mouse fight leagues springing up and fading out all over the place as people hop on the band wagon and try to ride the wave of hype. I prefer to see people who have a passion for this sport shape the path for the future of it.
