Former Combat In The Cage Heavyweight Champion, Shane Ott, Passes Away at Age 36

http://www.adcombat.com/Article.asp?Article_ID=16809

Quote:
Former IFL veteran and Combat in the Cage heavyweight champion, Shane Ott, passed away Sunday as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Ott, 36-years-old, was survived by his son and held a professional MMA record of 3-3. He last competed on March 19, 2008 where he dropped a TKO loss to Carlton Haselrig at Battle Cage Xtreme in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Here is what Jon Murphy, a friend and training partner of Ott, posted on the Underground (www.mma.tv) about the tragic loss of his friend:

“Not sure how many of you guys knew of Shane. The hardcore guys, East Coast MMA scene people, and some guys on here I know personally and so did Shane.

Just want to take a moment and inform you guys of his passing yesterday. He was in a terrible motorcycle accident early Sunday morning. From what I hear, doc's did all they could to save him, but his injuries were too severe and he eventually succumbed to his injuries.

thats just horrible news

thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones

Wow, I just post about him fighting for his life, then a few seconds later... This.. Very sad news.

RIP Shane Ott.

EDIT:

This is a quote from what I posted

"Word initially spread Sunday afternoon that the 37-year old had died from the injuries, but that is not the case. However, indications are that Ott has sustained devastating injuries and his recovery is less than certain"

Hopefully he is still with us, but if Jon Murphy posted that, I doubt it.

Fedor fights I want to see..

Fedor vs. Josh Barnett
Fedor vs. Randy Couture
Fedor vs. Tim Sylvia - DEMOLISHED
Fedor vs. Andrei Arlovski - DEMOLISHED

hmmmmm, i wonder how many become reality..

A bit insensitive, but I have to say I completely agree. R.I.P. Ott.

None of the major MMA News sites have reported his passing yet, so that's a good sign..

ya i have been trying to find any word but I have found nothing so far

my hopes aren't too high since it was Jon Murphy that was quoted
if it wasn't someone so close to him then i would be a little more optimistic

we can only hope

Thats horrible, I kept thinking about this kinda scenario when seeing Anderson on his CBR on all access. Street bikes are fun, but we should really jus ban them. R.I.P. Shane Ott.
