Joe Riggs: "I would like to fight Jake Shields"

Joe Riggs would like to test his skills against Jake Shields...

Quote:
"I would like to fight Jake Shields; I would. I think heís an unbelievable fighter. Iím not calling him out or disrespecting him, but I think Jake is an unbelievable fighter. To be in a fight like that would be very exciting and I think itís a similar fight to the Luke Stewart fight, but Jakeís a little better. I think it would be a great fight and a great win. Itís a fight that I would like to have."

No offense but I could care less what Riggs has to say or who he wants to fight. A dude who is 6-5 in their last 11 fights should just try and concentrate on putting a win streak together before talking about taking on a champion that they might or might not make weight for.

He's not being disrespectful but- meh, I don't care.

If this fight were to happen you would have the Shields lovers trying to make this win sound huge by saying "but Joe was supposed to fight for the WW title 3 years ago and that's why this is a great win for Jake and that's why he is a top WW."

They will "forget" the overweight thing.

Remember when the UFC used to really try and hype Riggs up but he just kept losing.

He's never impressed me TBH, he looked ok against Diaz but that's about as good as it got for Joe Riggs as far as I'm concerned. In fact his memorable fight for me was when Salaverry nearly KO'd him with an upkick then triangled him.

Jake Shields would defeat Riggs convincingly. More than likley in the first round.
