Babalu VS Feijao Official

It's official folks Babalu VS Feijao is on for June 6th in St. Louis.

This fight will be on the same card as Jake Shields VS Robbie Lawler. Also on the card is Phil Baroni VS Joe Riggs.

Damn I'm loving the way this one is shaping up already. This is a five round title fight.

Quote:
In addition to the Lawler vs. Shields matchup, a Strikeforce light heavyweight title defense by Renato “Babalu” Sobral vs. Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante has been added to the card as well.

Sobral, 32-7, won the promotion’s 205 pound crown from Bobby Southworth this past November during “Strikeforce: Destruction” after a doctor stopped the fight following the first round due to a cut. The former UFC veteran last competed in January during Affliction and M-1’s “Day of Reckoning.” Facing Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou, Sobral submitted the former PRIDE star with a Brabo choke submission at 2:36 of round 2.

For those of you that have never seen Rafael Feijao fight you're in for a treat. He's Anderson Silva's training partner.

He also trains with big and little Nog. This has serious FOTN potential. Babalu is in for his toughest fight in years. Feijao is in for the toughest test of his carreer.

Pretty tricky fight for Babalu, but i still feel experiance will come through and he will submit Feijao. Renato will have to get him on the ground early and use his superior wrestling to set up a late 1st/early 2nd round submission on the ground savvy Feijao.

Favourite Fighter

Renato Sobral

This fight is really intriuging and although Feijao has a great ground game, Babalu has the wrestling advantage in this fight and I feel will dictate where this fight takes place which I think will be the diffrence maker., great match up that should be Bablu's stiffest test in a long time an the toughest fight of Feijao's career and we'll finally see were he stands against top level competition.

Damn this is an awesome card! I'm definitely looking forward to this fight. It's going to be a great one. I think Feijao is going to get this win, but I'm sure it's going to be a war.

I was mad when I didn't get to see Feijao fight Diabate because he wouldn't be given a stage. I was even more upset when he was left in limbo because of ProElite's demise and he was sidelined with the rest of the roster.

But it looks like he's landed on his feet and is now being given a chance to prove his true worth with this fight.

He's gonna bring the pain. Feijao is methodic, and patient when he fights, I think he'll break Babalu down, find his weakness and take his title.

I want this fight inside me.

June 6th will not get here fast enough. I think Babalu overwhelm him overall and walk out with a UD.

I think Babalu outstrikes Rafael early causing him to shoot. If the gap is closed between the 2, I see Babalu taking Rafeal to the mat in the clinch and working a fast paced top control. A mix of gnp and submission attempts.

5 rounds will be all Babalu.

I think the biggest factor will be Feijaos clinch. Rafael does serious work with it. And it will be slick enough to hurt Babalu and possibly put him away with it.

He will most certainly outpoint him with it.

Yeah I don't think I've seen Babalu in a wicked assult clinch before. It will be interesting to see how he reacts to it but I can only see him trying to down Rafael down with a bodylock from the clinch.
