Alexandre Ribeiro is a 28 year old Brazilian Mixed Martial Artist with a strong Jiu Jitsu background. He has a 2-0 MMA record, with 2 wins in Japan, both in surprising KO or TKO fashion, which shows he has some handy punching or kicking ability. He trains with The Arena, alongside fighters such as Diego Sanchez and I reckon he could be one of the next big fighters.
Xande has superb Jiu-Jitsu, becoming the World Champion in the open weight category on 2 ocassions at the Jiu-Jitsu World Championships, and he also won the heavyweight tournament on 4 occasions. He was also the first man in the world to submit Jeff Monson, and is one of only 2 men to defeat Roger Gracie.
If he continues to work on his MMA game with the trainers at The Arena, and gets a few more wins under his belt we could definitely see him in one of the big promotions. I'm looking forward to seeing where Xande goes, sounds like he's got tremendous promise. Anyone else know anymore about the guy? What's his stand-up like? He has a KO and a TKO victory under his belt, so I presume he has some level of stand-up, but I'd be interested to know more about him. How far do you reckon he'll go?
