Is it really worth attending a live UFC event?
First off, let me preface my comments by stating that I may be considered a "little long in tooth" by some members in here. So this may be the equivalant of "GET THE F*%$ OFF MY LAWN" But I digress...
Fuesselfc's past post regarding what to expect at his first LIVE UFC got me wondering what you may ACTUALLY experience at such an event. A local radio personality here in Dallas attended UFC 103, and as much as he claims to love all forms of MMA... he could not endorse attending the event live.
He claimed the event was over-filled with people (whom are probably quite pleasant and normal people on any given day) displaying excessive douche bag behavior. I do not condone nor dislike any male that has excessive barbwire tattoo's while sporting an $75 affliction t-shirt that has been perfectly matched to a $200 pair of designer skinny jeans. But it is all of the "tough guy" and "I'm starring in my own movie" attitude that seems to run rampant at said events that makes me question... Is the live event even as good as the product that can be purchased on PPV?
For me, I'd rather invite over my friends and fill up the keg... but my son is quickly approaching 18 and he has already hit me up to attend the NOV. 21st event for his birthday. Vegas is great, would be even better leaving the wife and daughter at home, and just me and the boy being in Vegas... but I am truely perplexed. And yes, I admit that I am starting to get "crotchedy"...
So yes or no... PPV or fight the crowds?
