Heck Of A Fight!

My adrenaline was pumping all the way through. I have to say that there's definitely another level of fighting that's possible within MMA when you have explosive fighters, which both of these dudes were.

Also, there has to be something said about Emelianenko's timing loading up that right hand. He must be able to see something in the placing of weight in the stance of his opponent.

Good stuff!

Man, my heart was pumping throughout the whole fight. Did you see how much weight Fedor threw into that punch? He almost fell forward afterwords.

Fedor is a bad dude, but Brock fights different then Rogers. Rogers trust his hands, Brock uses his ground and pound. Brock would have taken Fedor down and used his size. However if Fedor landed one of those punches on him I would hate to see the outcome.

After seeing the technically polished escapes Grim used against Fedor tonite, I'm 100% sure that Rogers would destroy Lesnar.

Lesnar takes too many shots, even from guys with reaches much shorter than him. Grim's reach is the same, and he has 10x more power in both hands. If he can get up from Fedor (and if Herring can get up from Lesnar), then Lesnar has minimal chance.

Welcome to an era where not just one, but a few dark shadows cast over the UFC's HW division.

It's not a new era.

The UFC HW divison has always had multiple fighters outside of it that people say "this fighter could be most UFC HW fighters". At one point, most top heavyweights were in Pride.

UFC isn't the only player in the game, the only time that was the case was when Pride just went under (purchased by the UFC).

Quoted for truth.
Man Grim impressed me. I think bar none he has the heaviest hands in the HW division. His ground game was decent, and I believe he would beat Lesnar. I was tip toeing all through the fight because I felt that if he catches Fedor with a solid one Fedor's going down. Fedor had some nice flurries, and nice judo/sambo throws. The size difference was ridic, but boy oh boy what a shot Fedor gave.

No matter what happens after this win or lose Fedor will always be one of my favorite fighters. Age is catching up with him. He has crazy skill that not many can match. Raw skill is what got him past that beast.

Grim did not take the loss gracefully which is his business, but he needs to realize that he was bested by the better fighter and got KTFO. He should be proud that it was close, and acknowledge that he got beat. He won't win fans with that disrespect of Fedor.

When Grim lost, I thought "either he'll pull a GSP and come back stronger than ever, or get his soul sucked away like so many fighters have losing to Fedor."

I hated the disrespect, but at the same time, I was glad it was the former and not the latter. Rogers is motivated now, and has the finances to train full time. I'm excited for Rogers vs Overeem, Rogers vs Antonio Silva, Rogers vs Lesnar...
