I actually did read your post, and I don't see your point. I know you said you don't hate Kimbo but your reasons for wanting to see him lose don't make much sense, imagine the outrage if Kimbo fought someone like Arlovski in his first fight. He's working his way up like everyone else.

ball3ys is exactly right.

Kimbo isn't "working his way up".

He's fighting tested and proven cans that he should most CERTAINLY beat.

Yet they market him as a bad ass.

He's being spoonfed guys he was tailor made to destroy. After the Ken fight, 3 of his 5 MMA victories will come from fighters over 40... closer to their mid-40's.

There is a difference in fighting guys that aren't "top guys" and fighting guys that shouldn't even be fighting MMA.

The closest thing Kimbo has had to legit competition was James Thompson. And he should have lost that fight IMO.

Don Frye's Mustache > Kimbo's Beard

Aight I have no problem with Kimbo, I actually would like to see his fights as an undercard sorta deal. Anyway, Kimbo reminds me of Michael Vick (not jus cuz they're both black) I enjoyed watchin Vick play but every week I had to listen to people who didnt know what they were talkin about spout off about how great Vick was, when in fact he was much like Kimbo and had MANY holes in his game. Kimbo has a certain novelty to him but I cant stand the uninformed fans who buy into the hype machine and tell me Kimbos the greatest and have never heard of Fedor or even Nogueira.

I like Brock cause he wants to fight the top competition, and he proved he can handle it. I don't mind Kimbo as a fighter other than he's not as good as he thinks, but I want him to lose just to prove to the casual fans he's not as amazing as everyone thinks.

I have to agree with Bio on this one.

I don't quite understand hating on Kimbo because he is popular among casual fans. People like watching him fight, he built up his popularity through youtube and I don't get why that warrants the amount of hate he gets around here. I understand that people find the fact that he is sheltered by eliteXC disagreeable but how is that Kimbo's fault?

I've spoken to a lot of people who believe Kimbo is the be all and end all of MMA and that he could beat anyone in the world but I don't understand this elitist stance on the situation. People hate Kimbo because casual fans like him?

Doesn't make much sense hating on the guy for that.

Much of the generated Kimbo hate definetally came from Gary Shaw, as the general majority of hardcore MMA fans hate him for the shit he speaks and hyping Kimbo up, people also hate Kimbo because he is a c level fighter who is incredibly overhyped (i mean seriously, EliteXC made the Kimbo Thomson fight a main-event over Lawaler Smith) and the fact that EliteXC runs their whole business around Kimbo as fighters who lose get the chance to beat Kimbo while fighters who win are shafted (Brett Rogers and James Thomson) and is the scrotum to EliteXC's nutz (watch JAred Shaw dry hump Kimbo after he beats (cough *bullshit* cough) Thomson

continue rant later

First of all Kimbo is not working his way up. None of the the guys he is fighting are a step up. They are all on the same level. I think the problem is largely due to his promotion. They are running it like the old school boxing approach. They have a fighter with very limited skills, so they keep using gimmick fights. I also think the problem with Kimbo is how the media is buying into him. He gets interviewed by ESPN, while a guys like NOG or Barnett don't.

The reason I don't have a problem with Brock is that he had an impressive pedigree as an amateur coming in. Also for him to win the heavyweight title outright he would have to first beat Randy Couture, who is the #1/2 heavyweight in the UFC. Then he will either have to beat the other guy who is #1/2 in the UFC or the guy who beat him and beat NOG. After those wins who can say he doesn't deserve to be champ.
