I got so caught up in the UFC 66 madness I forgot to tell all about my fight(s)today.

First fight of the day was the semi-finals where I won what I figured would be an EXTREMELY hard fight to win. I was able to get the transition from side control to the mount and finished with a few good punches and elbows. I never made anyone tap from strikes before (being a BJJ guy and all) but this was my first.....onto the finals.

Well, I hate to tell you all, but I did not bring home the bacon so to speak this year. I made a careless mistake and paid the price. Long story short, my opponent was down on the ground, I went for a punch, got up-kicked, rocked, and BAM right into a triangle a-la Ivan Salaverry vs. Joe Riggs.

Sorry to disappoint, hopefully I'll go the distance next year....will have pics up soon, again sorry to let my friends down

Sorry to hear about your loss man. At least you learned a lesson you know. You only got one loss and your still an amatuer correct? I do have a question about that. When/if you compete in a professional organization like WEC or KOTC or something, does your record get a clean slate? Like if your next fight was a KOTC event, would they introduce you as 8-1 or 0-0? I have always wondered that. Or maybe I am wrong about all of it and you are competing in professional organizations just not ones I know of.

Too bad about your loss though, too bad you had to be the "Riggs" of this fight, it woulda been cool if it was the other way around seeings how you are a big Salaverry fan and all. 8-1 ain't nothing to hang your head about though keep up the good work.

Lol, that was funny.

Yeah dude, congrats on making it into the finals. I'd like to see some pictures of both fights, even if you did lose. This is way overused, but it's all a learning experience. I have absolutely no fighting experience so I'm not about to give you pointers, but all I can say is keep working hard and I hope you keep us updated on your progress and next fights.

WL2FU: Im pretty sure I would be intro'd as 8-1 since they are MMA fights....hmm now you got me all confused ha ill look into it. And yes, I would have loved to be the Salaverry of the fight. You know damn well I woulda blown kisses and done a cartwheel had I won.
