Well Henderson is the type of fighter that Shields hasn't faced before. This fight is going to prove alot to everyone.

agreed. i think hendo is gonna ragdoll the hell out of shields in the clinch. and i dont think daley or lawler hit as hard as hendo. i mean he knocked renzo gracie out with his sprawl.

Sorry , i just don't see how Fight between natural LHW and natural WW going to prove something .
unless shields win . something i just can't see happening .

Well, I'm excited to see how well he can implement a gameplan on Henderson. His striking is god awful, and if he tries to stand for 30 seconds, there is a good chance he will get caught.

Henderson will have nothing whatsoever to worry about on the feet, so if he can stuff those first few takedown attempts, Sheilds is going to get desperate pretty quickly.

BUT If he somehow manages to take down Henderson, I give him as good a chance as anyone of submitting him. He's young, skilled, and strong.

But I don't think he has what it takes to beat Hendo in April.

lol, I've been preaching Jake Shields on this forum for a couple of years now.

And every fight I'm the only fan around.

Everyone said....Daley would beat him, Lawler would beat him....hell I had a few guys telling me that Nick Thompson would KO him.

But the thing is, his hybrid wrestling and Gracie BJJ is just too much for alot of fighters to handle and he knows how to finish fighters, he's always the underdog, and he's fought tough competition his whole carreer.

He's a vet and Hendo isn't going to walk through him in any sense of the phrase.

He was the underdog on betting lines against Daley and Lawler? i think he will struggle hard against Hendo, but Daley was pretty much a given for him to sub.

This is a very intersting fight! I can't wait tee it. SF is putting on some good fights! I think that Henderson is going to win but I do not think that Shields is someone that Hendo should overlook. Shields has an incredible ground game and Henderson better be careful if it goes to the mat.

Personally I think Henderson will be dominating Strikeforce. He still has a few years left in him so this fight should be awesome.

That was my initial sentiment... but then the excitement of seeing Hendo smash Shields took over.

Agree, mostly anyway. Especially about the striking, Henderson will be able to keep his hands by his waist if he wants, he knows Sheilds can't hurt him, so it will be that much harder to take him down. Even if by some miracle Sheilds does get him down, Hendo is going to be too big and strong to just lie on the way Sheilds usually does, he will get back up pretty easily I think.

I am just hoping Sheilds will shut up about fighting GSP after he gets blown away by Henderson, since he has no more chance of beating GSP than Hendo, but I know it is vain hope.

lol, the way he usually does?

Jake Shields has finished 8 of his last 9 by submission or TKO all in rounds one and two.
