My thoughts on Strikeforce's card last night...*spoilers*
I was blown away.
It was, in my opinion, the best fight card I have ever seen.
The MMA showcase of the Lindland fight (Souza's striking is lightning, I'm excited to watch him)...the fight of the year in Melendez/Thompson...and my boy Cung Le putting on a clinic then getting KTFO....
I don't know what it was, I guess just the fact it was:
-FREE
-In HD
-Barely any commercials
IF it was the UFC on Spike, you would have seen the next event spammed, their vid game spammed, and the same shitty commercials stuffed down your throat until you felt like vommitting.
That Quadros guy needs to not be on camera, but I really like where Strikeforce is going, I LOVE their fighters, and I can't wait to watch more of them.

It wasn't the best card I'd ever seen, but it was definately top quality for a free event. The Thompson/Melendez fight made my night.

Wow that's a big accolade. I saw every fight afterwards and I agree, the quality was great and the fights were FANTASTIC! They were all super exciting, showcasing a ton of new talent, well established talent, and unorthodox talent.
Can't wait for their next card!

...I think it was Strikeforce's best card this year. Now with Hendo & Lashley onboard 2010, Strikeforce will be even better...

Game Mention
Yeah I noticed that there weren't any commercials for the EASports MMA game at all. They mentioned it but not very much.

I agree.
The whole event from beginning to end was just amazing. For once, every fight was better than the one before it.
Props to Scott Smith, never give up.

Jacare looked phenomonal. Is he that good or has Linland just faded that much, or both?
I love the lightweight division and Gil and the Punk showcased why. I enjoy the hell out of some Strikeforce, but who wouldn't want to see both of these guys sign with the UFC? You could make an argument that either of the two would be in the top 5 of the division, and just imagine all the badass matchups.
King Mo... is he ready for the gigantic step-up in competition and face Mousasi?
Lastly, watching Cung Le's standup is so entertaining. It's refreshing to see brilliant strikers like Anderson Silva and Le. It gives us a glance at what the future of striking in MMA holds for us, but Scott Smith... again?!
This is the kind of card that would have been great to have been shown on CBS. Sure, it doesn't have the one HUGE main event fight, but it was highly entertaining, and would have helped gain fighter recognition to build contenders under the Strikeforce brand.

Jacare was indeed phenomenal! I've never seen his fights before and was completely blown away.
Hope to see him vs Shield for the belt sooner then later. This will be an interesting matchup. Two world class grapplers but I think Jacare has better and more powerful standup. Shields probably has the edge in wrestling thought I predict Jacare Souza will hold the belt in the end!
