Cung le's Cardio has it always been this bad?

Ive never seen him fight before...yes ive heard of him and his rep etc but his cardio is comical! Yes he was winning the fight very easily but he was gasping like a fish out of water. Its not like smith had him pressed against the cage or he was trying to maintain guard.....he got tired and lost the fight.

Its pretty sad that someone of his stature would disrespect scott smith and the sport like that...he p[aid the price

的f he wants to leave the division, leave the sport, who cares, Beat it, nobody tunes in to watch him anyways, and his little fake 選 don稚 speak English.

He was continuously throwing kicks for over 10 minutes. Plus he was trying to pull a Machida in rounds 1 and 2. He didn't get hit with ANYTHING in these rounds. I don't think there's anyone on this planet who wouldn't have gassed. I think he should have picked his shots better instead of just throwing kicks non stop.

He lost the focus and his cardio wasn't even close at 100% either. He took a break to do some movies, his main focus wasn't fighting anymore. I think that might be the reason why he went out of gass.

Im sorry but no way was cung le's cardio acceptable for an mma fighter. By that reasoning melendez and thompson should be in coma's (just kidding)

Im not saying le wasnt winning the fight comprehensively but he didnt do enough to warrant him being that exhausted

He just came off of a 2 year break from MMA, of course his cardio is better.

And to be honest coming off of a 2 year break and fighting someone with dynamite in their fists like Scott Smith is NOT a good idea.

Cung should have warmed up against someone else.

And it's even more impressive how he schooled Smith after a 2 years break.

A) ive never seen him fight
B) One would assume that you'd actually work out enough to get your conditioning back to optimum!

He could have been working out the whole time, but it is kinda hard to gauge where you are at fighting wise after being out of action for 2 years.

He should have had a little bit easier of a fight for a warm up to get back into it. Granted he was schooling Smith, but it isn't a good idea to warm up against someone who has the power to finish a fight with one shot. It was a dangerous fight for Le.

I also think that Le might have been overlooking Smith. He was talkaing about why he was undefeated and how good he was, and then he got careless and he paid for it. I expect he will be back in good form for his next fight.

That's easy to say when he gets KO'd, but if he beat Smith, he would look like the Cung Le of old. I believe Cung is genuine in that he trained as hard as he could. It probably wasn't the Cung from when he beat Shamrock, but he didn't make any excuses and seemed to be fine. It did look like he got a little cocky and let his hands down.

Im a big believer in cage rust. As someone stated above, its hard to gauge where your conditioning is actually gonna be at during a fight when you have been off that long. He was also putting about as much power as he could into everyone of his kicks, not exactly the best strategy for a three round fight, but he probably didnt intend for it to go that long.
