ufc's gonna give toney to someone who is a well known fighter so that they can get the sales, but the fighter's gotta be good, probably mir vs carwin winner so either one of em can get a easy win and brock lesnar will not be ready for the title fight by the time this possible fight goes down
hope toney gets wrecked by anyone

Did u seriously say James Toney would probably get the Mir Carwin winner....? Dude he never fought in MMA why would he get the two top 5 ranked HW in the world... He will get someone thats about to get kicked like Al Turk or Cro Cop. It will either be someone thats about to be kicked or a up and comer, im putting my money on someone well known and thats been losing lately

Its obvious Toney would get schooled by a ground fighter but if one of these guys would stand and trade with Toney someone is going to sleep.

But the thing is if James Toney does manage to KO one of our good strikers it would be DEVESTATING to MMA. It would be like Tim Sylvia vs Ray Mercer only Tim is the UFC.
If I was Dana I would feel alot better making a little bit of money and giving MMA a little boost by showing these boxers they can't hang if they don't have a ground game. I know James Toney is old washed up whatever but power is the last thing go. The speed might not be there but power.

It is a big risk but the payoff would be much greater if a striker KO'd Toney. I think a kickboxer could do it. Maybe someone like Kongo. Toney would have to deal with the kicks which he would not be used to.

Gilbert is a much better matchup. Vicious leg kicks, unreal KO power, quick, good ground game etc. Plus he's unranked right now and not popular in the states.
