Do they do it on purpose? the last events(PPV) for a year now are almost always at the same time(same month and sometimes same week)... is that made on purpose? Most cant afford to order both ppv, so is that a competition thing to have one just before the other? Its very annoying

Well obviously they are competing for the USA market,so head ot head competition does make people choose alot.

I "assume" the UFC would benefit from this more than PRIDE,since PRIDE is alot less known by USA fans.

Maybe its just timing. They do have several events a year.

That's what competition does, they want to "compete" head to head to show the consumer who has the better product.

if its so obvious like u guys think it is, then why would pride always make their event after the ufc's event.

and btw, pride's market isnt only the US, its mainly Japan, yet they dont do the same for k-1 events.

id assume pride makes it after because they know a lot of fans watch both but are usually partial to one...so making it after steals the predecessor's thunder...it worked on me...all i could talk about was UFC66, but one day later all i could talk about and think about was shockwave 2006...

The big MMA events are few and far between them, so I agree it's kind of stupid not to space them out more. There's enough eyeballs to go around.

As long as it's not the same day I'm fine. I believe K-1 and Pride both had events on the same day and time though (Dec 31)? Now that's not too smart.

yeah, but ones on japanese TV and the others not...so it would only affect the fans attending, but i agree that its not the smartest move to go up against K-1 in japan...

It's UFC's attempt to kill off Pride.

thats only for american viewers.. pride events usually happen about 4-5 days before the PPV air's.. (whenever they are in Japan)
