Fall of the Kings
After what almost happend at UFC 117, I thought I'd go over what has happened throughout this year and cover some extra stuff:
Heavyweight-Fedor ruled the heavyweight division for about seven years and strung together probably the longest winning streak in MMA history before falling to Werdum.
Lightheavyweight-As we all know, this division's UFC title has never been defended more than once since Chuck Liddell lost the belt to Rampage Jackson three years ago. Since then, Shogun Rua has reclaimed the number one spot from back in the PRIDE days and the UFC title.
Middleweight-Anderson Silva came a few minutes from loosing the belt that he had for almost four years before submitting Cael Sonnen and still holds onto his belt and 13 fight win streak.
Welterweight-Since reclaiming the title from Matt Serra, GSP has put seven fight win streak and will most likely be the pound for pound best fighter in the world now.
Lightweight-BJ Penn ruled the lightweight division for roughly two years and challenged GSP for his welterweight belt before being upset by Frankie Edgar this April.
