M-1 Global’s Vadim Finkelstein On Internet MMA Websites

M-1 Global’s Vadim Finkelstein On Internet MMA Websites | Steve Rattlesnake

“This tendency reflects the current market situation. The UFC has been a long-time leader in the market and widely uses the Internet for advertising. With websites’ content reflecting the UFC’s position, they provide revenue streams to the sites; it wouldn’t come as a surprise to the sites that their financial position would be negatively impacted if their content went against the UFC’s position and the UFC stopped buying the advertising space”

pretty much hits the nail on the head with Sherdog's biased P4P lists. What else is new though.

If Sherdog was really that worried about the UFC Lorretta Hunt would be out of a job, remember Dana is not a fan. Dana has ranted about hating all these MMA sites in the past so I am not sure I buy, M-1's talk since they advertise as much if not more than most promotions on MMA News Sites. News sites cover the UFC because they are the #1 promotion so why would you not cater to your widest audience.

Exactly websites cover all mma, but they obviously can't ignore the biggest company with the best talent. Many websites are always trying to overhype and rank a fighter that has no reason to be there, just because they are not in the UFC.
