Your first UFC/MMA Event (Don't be telling lies)

Just wondering how you discovered the sport?

Me personally my first and only live event so far is UFC 36 my dad worked for MGM Mirage at the time and got me and my brother tickets didn't really enjoy it.

Then about five years later I was channel surfing and caught UFC 75 during the Alexander/Sakara fight and I was hooked.

The first event I ever watched was UFC 117 Silva vs Sonnen. I was hooked after I saw that.

Well I've seen just about every ufc event since GSP beat Hughes at UFC 65. I was a casual fan though until then. What got me to become a casual fan was without a doubt watching the first fight between Griffin and Bonnar. Im sure that fight alone hooked a crap load of fans.

well when i was a kid i lived in the US, but i wasnt allowed to watch UFC at that time, i was 9-10 but i knew about it, in 2001 i came back to brazil and i discovered pride later, so pride was actually my first taste in MMA, man was i hooked, ive always loved anything with fighting, boxing, wwf (lol), kickboxing, i had all those fight movies and old kung fu movies, bruce damn this was amazing to watch

then i remembered about the UFC and wanted to watch it so i looked for the 1st event (start from the beginning) and i actually didnt like it at all, i just saw a bunch of drunks, it wasnt good fighting it was just fighting, really ridiculous, i watched a few more shows but they still sucked so i kinda forgot about UFC and just focused on pride for a while, then i started hearing how UFC got better, and had better fightes than pride, and they had rules now, so i gave them another shot

and i ended up catching UFC 37.5 and damn what a night, from then on i was hooked also, brushed up on the other events i missed since its transformation and followed it till this day

I've been watching regularly since UFC 60 (Matt Hughes vs Royce Gracie), but I knew about it before then. I remember watching some with Royce Gracie and Shamrock in the beginning when my brother rented them from Blockbuster.

My first (and only) event attended was the Strikeforce in Nashville.

for me it was UFC 1. didnt get to see the whole event tho... we had the old Dish, the big 8 foot one in the yard when i was in high school. our provider, with sporting event ppv's they would give you like the first 15 min free. Seeing Gerard Gordeau punch and kick Teila Tuli in the face and see his teeth flying was all i needed to see!! unfortunatly my dad was too cheap to pay for a ppv... so later events i had to call on somone with a black box to record them for me and give them to me (im pretty sure statute of limitations ran out on thos by now). But then came the Dark Era of MMA, and i kinda forgot about it.... then i was able to watch UFC 38 Hughes vs Newton 2, and i knew it was still out there but never able to see it, and i wanna say UFC 50 is when i was able to see it again and havent really missed an event since.

i have bought the first 20 UFC's on dvd (2 box sets), and im up to UFC 12, and ima probably get the others i missed on dvd, so one day ill be able to say ive seen every UFC event =D

R.I.P. Evan Tanner, you will be missed....

My first exposure to MMA was Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye 2002 – K-1 vs Inoki. I watched Cro Cop destroy Fujita for three rounds, Jan the Giant destroy his opponent, Frye take out Cyril Abidi, watched Daniel Gracie submit his opponent, Yoshida submit some karate dude, and Bob Sapp destroy Yoshihiro Takayama. It solidified MMA and K-1 into my brain and from that point on I've been hooked on MMA!

The first one I ever watched was UFC 1 on VHS. I didn't get heavily into watching the UFC and pride regurally until around UFC 28.

Pride Final Conflict 2003 downloaded of the internet after reading an article about MMA and being mildly curious. It was much better than I thought it was going to be.
