Round 2 - Saffiedine lands a nice right hand up the pipe. Larson continues to fight with his back against the cage. Saffiedine kicks the thigh. Saffiedine switches stances and jabs. Saffiedine misses a punch, but Larson's counters are no more successful. Larson continues to fight from the cage.He moves to the center, but he immediately retreats back. Saffiedine leaps in with a knee, and Larson catches it. However, Saffiedine again shows excellent balance while remaining upright. Larson holds Saffiedine's right leg, but "Sponge" won't be toppled. Knee inside from Saffiedine. Referee appears comfortable with the "action." Larson drops for a double, but Saffiedine pulls away. Saffiedine kicks the thigh on the restart. He just misses a high kick. Larson does not want to fight in the middle of the cage. He does land a leaping right. Saffiedine kicks the leg and presses in. Nothing there, and they reset. Little flurry in the end, and a few shots are dangerously close to the bell. Less offense in the round, but MMAjunkie.com sees it again for Saffiedine, 10-9.
Round 3 - Both fighters run to the middle, but guess where Larson goes? Yup - to the cage. Saffiedine measures him and lands a right hand. Saffiedine with a front kick. Low kick. Punches land flush, and Larson drops for a takedown. Saffiedine just backs away. High kick misses for Saffiedine - just over the top. Yes, he's throwing high kicks against someone who should theoretically be shooting in at all times. Larson grabs a single leg. Saffiedine spins to the cage and again shows excellent balance. Saffiedine slips his leg out and walks to Larson's back. Larson spins in, but Saffiedine is now on top throwing punches. Larson tries to keep the action close, but Saffiedine is elevating and landing while maintaining control. Saffiedine is landing left hands at will. Larson rolls to his side, but he's got nothing from his back. Round ends there. It's 10-9 Saffiedine on the MMAjunkie.com card, and he takes the fight 30-27. Poor showing from Larson.
