PRIDEFC Official Website

Very intresesting when he talks about mirko and the ufc

Maybe hes trying to save face, because im pretty sure mirko and pride left on bad terms.

IowaMFSFan has a little shameless behaviour in the past
It would be awesome, but the loser would be embarrassed. It wouldnt make good business sense really.

this whole interview is called hype. its nice to talk a big game about getting the ufc and pride to fight each other. but it wont happen. the business aspect of mma wont allow this to happen

Why do you think Mirko left Pride on bad terms? I thought he said himself that he plans & returning after his contract is up.

Im sure they didnt end on bad terms, Mirko was such a likeable guy in Pride, and this surely doesnt sound like they ended on bad terms, if they did, he would say No he wont go, or no comment, but he blatently said, he will cheer for Mirko. Hopefully Crocop gets his UFC Champ belt, then 1-2yrs down the line, comes back to where he belongs PRIDE

Pride: Will you attend the February 3rd UFC event in which Mirko will fight?

Sakakibara: I will go to cheer for Mirko, of course. I think that among all new sports borne in this new generation, mixed martial arts is the most exciting. If UFC fighters want to fight in PRIDE, that's fine. On the other hand, if PRIDE fighters want to challenge themselves in the UFC, that's fine, too.

i was saying this because at the owgp, remember cro cop almost wanted to quit because of money arrangements, and they had to settle it last minute, giving something like 100k more to him(and to him only, good thing he won). After that, he goes and takes up a big contract(5-6 fights i think?) with the UFC. If i was that ceo, id be pissed, i just spent 100k to get(and make) a champ and after that, they cant even promote him as owgp champ, he leaves. Anyways its just my opinion, i dont have facts supporting this. But id really like it if mirko finish his ufc contract undefeated(and with a belt maybe), and comes back to pride after.
