As for the HW list/Werdum debate, I'd have it like this:

#1 Brock
#2 Werdum
#3 Fedor
#4 Cain
#5 Alistair/JDS.

Werdum very well could be #1, seeing as how he's on a 3 fight win streak and one of those is the greatest HW of all time, if not the greatest MMA fighter of all time, and he's the first person to beat him in 10 years. However, I'll give brock #1 because he came off a long layoff and beat the #1 contender, which is the only reason he's above Werdum on my list.
See your reason makes more sense than other saying "Fedor was never good" or "he lost to a UFC reject" But the man beat Fedor, so Imo he is the top HW in the world. To be the best you gotta beat the best.

LW

1. Frankie Edgar
2. BJ Penn
3. Gray Maynard
4. Gilbert Melendez
5. KJ Noons

Notes: Aoki has beaten one well rounded LW in Alvarez. Outside Japan where refs are gonna make him fight instead of letting him butt scoot he will never beat a LW with even decent wrestling. If Aoki went to Bellator Alvarez would lay an epic beating on him.

WW.
GSP
Shields
Fitch
Kos
Kampmann/Diaz

MW
Anderson
Sonnen
Okami
Jacare
Belcher

LHW
Shogun
Machida
Rashad
Bones
Bader

Notes. This is the biggest talent gap of any division. Fejeo, King Mo and Mousasi are far behind the crop of talent at 205 in the UFC. I am not sure a non UFC LHW would break my top 10.
HW
Lesnar
Velasquez
JDS
Overeem
Werdum

Overeem/JDS/Velasquez are kinda interchangeable to me. I think Velasquez and JDS are more proven at HW against known commodities so they get the nod.

Penn has defeated 6 former world champs to Aoki's 7
put those two list together and Aoki has beaten more champs then Penn. And you would be a true Zuffa nuthugger if you say Penn is doing better than Aoki. Penn loss 2 in a row, TO THE SAME GUY.
GSP is to Penn as Sakurai as to Aoki. GSP and Sakurai both won a descion the 1st bout and finshed them both in the 2nd. But these were different weight classes.
Look at it this way if your still upset:
In his last five bouts Aoki is 4-1 defeating 3 former world champs (Kawajiri,Hirota,Hansen)
Penn is 2-3 defeating only 1 former world champ (Sanchez)

Its not how many you beat its WHO you beat. You compare Sakurai to GSP? Really is this a joke? Sakurai couldn't hold Matt Hughes jock. The LW division in Japan has not been that good for years, the only 2 wins that Aoki really impressed me with was Alvarez and his win over Vitor Riberio and the latter was more impressive because of how he beat him. I guarantee and would bet money that if Aoki went full time to Strikeforce he wouldn't even be a top 5 LW in that company. BJ would beat Aoki to such a pulp it wouldn't even be funny. Matt Hughes is better than anybody Aoki has even fought. Hell Florian and Sherk are probably better than anybody he has fought with the exception of Melendez.

Lets by honest, in Sakarai's glory days in Shooto he was the main to beat. With 7 (count em 7) title defenses to his name in the Shooto MW division until Andy came along to defeated him. I mean if yall would actually watch Shooto,WVR and DEEP cards and stop bein so judgemental and hang on Dana's every word, then maybe you wouldn't be so closed minded. The moment people stop labeling fighters by promos and label them by skill, then the world of MMA will be a better place.

Those wins are all guys of lesser ability, none of which are the same level as Sherk/Florian.

The Wamma belt was always a joke. The guys fighting for it were never close to the best. It was just a few guys deciding who the best non-zuffa fighters were and saying they should fight.

I don't see Werdum being above JDS. JDS beat him and hasn't lost since. I also don't understand Overeem at all. The guy was just a descent LHW, who hasn't beaten a good HW yet.

I'm not exactly sure Fedor should be the number two heavyweight in the world. I'm also not sure that Jones or Bader are up in the top five just yet. They need to get a few more fights and they will defiantely be close if not there!

Yeh, can see the point on Bader and Jones. Could definately have any of the strikeforce top 3 above them, current Champ and Mousasi and King Mo. Either of those 5 in number 4 or 5 slots at LHW would do me.

Fedor, think his done too much in comparison to the others. Another loss and he would drop off the list, but anybody can be submitted once and he has prooven enough in his career to still be near the top of the heavyweight heap.

Bader beat lil Nog. That is a more impressive win than any of the strikeforce LHWs have had in their whole career. Ranking the LHW fighters in Strikeforce is a house of cards. Mousasi was ranked for beating lesser competition and Jacare (who is a MW) and Babalu, who hasn't beaten a top level LHW in 7 years. Mo beat him so he is ranked high. Feijao beats him so he gets highly ranked. If you start with Mousasi not being a elite level fighter, then house falls down. The truth is none of them deserve to be ranked in the top 5.
