Why Does PRIDE...

always throw newcomers against some of the best fighters they got?

Jens Pulver, Charles Bennett, & Nick Diaz firsts fights were all against Takanori Gomi..

theyve done this numerous times... confuses the hell out of me

If they think it can sell they go with it. I think Diaz can beat Gomi.

Well, I really think that Fujita is very under looked. He is a very, very dangerous fighter as you would know. I think they expected Kurtanidze (??) to do a bit better than what he did.

Because unlike what idiots make them out to be, Pride isn't good for fighters. They ruin a lot of careers and do stupid business. As much as I like their fighters and their events I really don't like Pride management. They protect their golden boys just like the UFC does. IMO the shit that Dana and Zuffa take should actually be thrown at DSE. Sorry to sound like a ****, but it's true.

Pride definetly does a pretty bad job of not building up a fighters confidence and name by putting them up against lesser opponents. Its not that you want to throw them up against complete scrubs to protect them, but at the same time you dont want them to get crushed in their first fight and fall off the face of the earth because of it.

completely agree man. good post. repped.

pride really does throw fighters into things they arent ready for. i think it helps explain why there arent many title fights in pride. they dont build up the divisions as well as the ufc does. but also they have alot of inter-weight class competition. so its only part of the reason.
