Why doesnt he realise he is awful at striking and go back to using that BJJ BB he has forgot about and that he can use it during a fight.

It's not easy to be humbled after you've out kickboxed Cro Cop!

Punchers chance at HW everyone has one , i think its about being smart. He beat lesser tier fighters with striking and then faced Randy , Werdum , Carwin and Junior and the stand and bang just isnt good enough , Randy and Werdum played to their strengths and then he got beaten by Carwin and Junior due to lack of technique and just plain power. Literally after that he should have realised that my punching can only take me as far as the Tuchscher and Hendricks of the world but facing better guys i need to use my ground game more or atleast mix it up , Schaub is no world beater but Gonzaga made him look way better than he is , Gabe could beat him if he had a brain.

Yeah it's wierd and kind of sad. GG has so much potential, but just fights like crap. From contender to gatekeeper to being cut. If he had a good camp and someone to help him with gameplans, then I could see him beating some of the top 10HWs. I don't think he could ever be champion, but a high level gatekeeper for sure.

He almost KO'ed Carwin. He KO'ed CroCop via highkick. He put up a great fight against an inspired Randy Couture.

He's not bad at all. He has great potential. Needs better camp, better game planning and better cardio. Start to use his strengths better instead of brawling.

Fun trivia: In danish "kamp" means "match" or "fight". So Martin Kampmann really lives up to his name.

I see Gonzaga heading to either Strikeforce, Bellator, or DREAM. He could definately add depth to DREAM and Strikeforce. As for Bellator, he would either pose a challenge to Konrad or would just end up like Huerta!

because to use BJJ he has to get them down first and his TD's are so slow that his opponents have eternity to get out the way or defend them.

Either way he has to go back to the drawing board if he wants back into the UFC. Incidently I don't think he's going back because he just hasn't improved that much since his loss to Couture for the title. More than likely as I stated earlier he will probably be in other promotions like Strikeforce and DREAM.
