PED's or not, enough said. Make this happen again.
I agree with every other award. Although I would have liked to see Franklin get KO of the year.

i disagree with best promotion, Every WEC card this year was awesome, ive never heard anyone complain about a WEC card ever.
Also How can Wand fight team be the best Gym, i only know 2-3 fighters from that gym and they are not that great either. Is it based on the quality of fighters or the actual gym itself like equipment etc. because it is a pretty awesome looking gym il give them that.
I think Sotiropoulos easily deserved international fighter award. Overeem has only had one fight this year and that was against a overrated Brett Rogers. Goes to show that the general fan knowledge of MMA is poor and most of the awards are based on who they like watch the most, not who is actually the better fighter.

I lol'd at Dan Miragliotta being nominated for best ref. Are there really not 5 better refs than this clown? Wow. MMA needs more refs.

Ant that the truth, I read somewhere the fans had voted on the nominees, which explains why without going into who should or should not have won, but there are certainly fighters missing who at least deserved to be nominated.
Take best submission for example, hard to remember back this far, but can you remember Paulo Thiago's submission over Mike Swick it deserved to be given a shout, as did Davis Anaconda choke over Gustafsson, more so when you look at what was nominated.
Best KO, KJ Noons vs Jorge Gurgel arguably the best KO of the year again not even nominated.
Best fight of the year, Feijao vs King Mo not been in there was sick, Diego Sanchez vs Paulo Thiago, Belcher vs Cote all better fights than any of the nominees imo.
As for Brock been a nominee for best fighter of the year and not Cain, well what else can you say.

Yeah, Herb Dean deserves that award. He has been contributing to the sport of MMA for a long time. Not to mention he is passing his officiating experience to the next generation!

i like how the fact that they threw a big ass show makes these "Awards" mean something. I'm curious- who's doing the voting? what are the criteria? this thing seems like a thinly veiled PR fiasco.

That is a good question. But from the look of some of the results I would say those "professionals" who still rank Fedor as number three and Werdum as number two probably did part of it. You will notice that Overeem is listed as the top international fighter, where as we know there are others who deserve that position more than he does!
