here's an intersting tidbit I just stumbled on while reading your link.
" As if the news of Charles "Mask" Lewis' death and the photos of his Ferrari split in half weren't shocking enough, the L.A. Times is now unearthing details about the other driver in the horrific accident. The L.A.P.D. suspects that Lewis and Jeffrey David Kirby, in his Porsche, were racing on a Newport Beach street when the accident occured at 1 a.m. Kirby was arrested on suspicion of felony drunk driving and driving under the influence. It turns out that this wasn't the first time Kirby had been popped:
According to Orange County Superior Court records, Kirby has been cited for at least eight traffic violations since 2001, including a conviction for driving under the influence in which he was sentenced to three years' probation.
He also pulled a classic "do you know who I am" during the 2001 arrest:
In the 2001 drunk driving arrest, Kirby allegedly told the arresting officer that his father was a retired CHP patrolman who always advised him to never submit to a sobriety test. He also told the officer that "he shouldn't be picking on people with money," according to the police report.
It's a shame 13 years is the max he can get.
