Sakuraba and Mayham are both wrestling based fighters. Second, Shields is Diaz's stable mate and I'm sure he can help Diaz train for this fight. Lastly, Diaz is too tall for Mayham to kick Diaz unless he has flexibility like Cung Le!

What does being wrestling based fighters have to do with anything? Sakuraba had only ever been submitted once in his career, in his first fight. Shields won't be able to help Diaz, as Diaz doesn't have the wrestling ability to control Mayhem like Shields did. Mayhem will kick Diaz in the face. It's happening.

First, what I meant to say was that Mayham had wrestling and was more well rounded then Sakuraba is. Second, Shields is basically a Mayham stand in that can help Diaz train what to look for. Lastly, please tell me how Mayham can set up a kick agaisnt a guy taller than himself in Diaz!

More well rounded or not, Mayhem still submitted Sakuraba, something no-one had done to him since Kimo in '96. He really isn't. He's fought Mayhem, but his striking isn't as dynamic as Mayhem's and he's not as aggressive on the ground as Mayhem. Sure, he will help Diaz, but he's not going to improve Diaz's wrestling enough to help him defend Mayhem's takedowns. Mayhem is 6 ft 1. Nick Diaz is 6 ft 1.

Ok, name one person besides Mirko Cro Cop that can kick higher than his height. Two, Shields maybe boring but the fact is he controlled Mayham for twenty five minutes. I think he can help Diaz improve his defense enough to control Mayham!

So the only people you can kick in the head are ones shorter than you? =/ Shields would help Diaz, but I don't think he could help Diaz improve his TDD enough to defend the takedown from Mayhem. As far as I'm concerned Mayhem takes Diaz down after connecting on the feet, beats him up and then chokes him out. Mayhem isn't going to stand on the outside taking Diaz's monkey punches for 3 rounds.

It is possible to kick people taller than you but has Mayham done that honestly?

He used a lot of words but didn't really say anything besides "I don't want to fight Daley." The only reason I can think of him not wanting to fight Daley is because he's scared. If he weren't he'd use the fight as a tune-up and get some free money out of it, since he's got Paul's number (according to himself).
This is why I don't like Strikeforce, the inmates run the asylum. Everyone picks and chooses their fights and then are ridiculously public about it.

Is KJ really in a position to question Daley's record? Daley's best wins are over Ludwig, Kampmann, Hazelett and Masvidal. KJ's are Diaz (cuts), Yves Edwards and then??? No-one!
Only one reason KJ wouldn't take this fight and it's because he thinks he'll get KTFO. World class Mauy Thai >>>>> world class boxing (and that's coming from a boxer)

Kenny Florian trains with GSP who has the best TD defense in MMA statistically and yet KenFlo has some of the worst TD defense in the UFC. Who you train with helps but if your not the same style of fighter it doesn't translate. Build strength and background wise Diaz is not Shields. Shields wrestling has been perfected for years, You don't get good enough to take down and olympic caliber wrestler like Dan Henderson overnight.
On topic though Noons hands are every bit good enough to stand and trade with Daley, Noons problem is that his years of boxing have him to used to defending with the bigger gloves and because of that defensively his mma striking is not that good. Noons gets tagged often Daley is not Gurgel though and against Daley that would likely be his downfall.
