So you can fight for SF and get your record padded?
Thats what it seems. This organization shouldn't have the power to do that. Its makes MMA less legit when you have good-great fighters fighting people who are merely decent. With the opponents they have been giving diaz.. i wouldn't be surprised if Diaz ends up holding the record for most consecutive wins. SF more and more is becoming a joke of an MMA organization. They shouldn't have the power to make a mockery out of records. In the UFC if you are on a 5 fight win streak.. then that record means something. In SF if you are on a 20 fight win streak it still doeskin mean you fought one legit opponent. Why are they allowed to do this to mma.?

In the lower organisations you're going to see guys in lop-sided fights every now and then, but the Diaz situation is laughable frankly. Had the chance to be put against Mayhem (at a catchweight 3lbs higher than the one his camp suggested), Daley who's a genuine contender at 170 or even Woodley/Saffiedine. His camp deciding that a fight with Cyborg makes more sense is just hilarious. They're clearly putting together fights they believe Nicky can win, to boost his record. Would be even funnier if it backfired and Cyborg knocked him out.

This is why I hope that SF eventually folds. They have terrible matchmaking, awful production, and even worse commentary. Add to that fact that they never put their champs in any serious fights. I feel MMA as a whole would be better off if this organization went belly up.

I don't think the solution to this is to have Strikeforce fold. What they need is new management rather than that pushover Scott Coker. If they did that and got another network to be their home rather than Showtime they can be legit once again!

I'd rather see one main mma orginization in America, to go along with the NFL, NBA, MLB. It doesn't work to half these half ass organizations where someone with some money thinks they can buy their way into the sport. Investors could still own parts of it, like people can own Teams in other sports.

That is why any intelligent fan will look at said record and who they have beat...not just the wins and losses.
Mousassi for instance. People without a clue look at his volume of wins...you look closer and he has beat so many cans it isn't even funny.
I like fighters who aren't afraid to lose and seek the best competition.

Well unfortunately that isn't football, baseball or basketball. It took at least one hundred years for those sports organizations to get to the top. Modern MMA is less barely twenty years old if that so the infrastructure just hasn't built to a dominance yet!

Me too.
I like SF in theory. But what is the point if you can't even make the best fights on a consistent basis?
The Overeem-Fedor situation being the most pathetic. Why was Fedor signing to SF even a big deal if he isn't even going to fight for their belt? Or should I say happy meal toy.
Fedor hasn't even been the champion of anything since 2006. Oh I forgot...that amazing WAMMA title that makes no sense at all.

They are definately touch and go. I think the idea with Fedor was that he was going to fight for the belt but that fell through. Remember that WAMMA folded but at the time it was a legit title!

Strikefoce doesn't have that many people to match up. what would you want, for nick and all the other top fighters in the org to take even more time off so they can wait for a opponent with a name to come along?
