Strikeforce's issue is that they do have some very talented guys, but after the Top 2 or 3 in each division (bar possibly HW) their divisions are incredibly thin and often made up of guys that couldn't make it in the UFC. I still enjoy watching their shows, as any MMA is good MMA, but I'm looking forward to seeing some cards that aren't almost entirely predictable on paper, which, frankly, the last 2 have.
This. Alot of their fights are one-sided but I think there doin the best they can with what they got.. Obviously there are some really great matchups to put on but for every 1 competitive matchup there are 4 lopsided to go with it.

Agreed. When you have alot of mismatches you tend to have more finishes generally. Though sometimes Dana White laughs at StrikeForce miss matchmaking but sometimes Joe Silva isint perfect either. Plenty of times where the UFC had obvious mismatches but generally the rest of it is pretty evenly matched thats why you alot of times you see stalemates. But it was still pretty entertaining anyways. StrikeForce card was fun to watch last night, though I dont really watch much SF, sometimes people want to see someone just beating down the other guy instead of guys duking it out evenly to a crawl.

Isn't always a crawl. Would have just been nice to see Prangley and Robbie...2 guys knowing they NEED to keep it standing...do a little better at it. I mean what did they work on all camp? Most likely keeping the fight standing. Prangley threw about 3 punches and was taken down...Robbie made Jacare look like Jon Fitch or something. I mean at least come in with better TDD when you know that is the 1 thing you need.

The Walker fights are just blah. Even when he beats the guy down, it isn't that exciting...

Awesomely entertaining? How about amazingly predictable...

There were 2 decent fights on this card. Lawler vs Souza was good but went exactly as expected with Souza surviving the striking then choking Lawler out. Diaz vs Cyborg was good too until Cyborg retardedly dived into Diaz's guard when he was winning the round...

I really disagree with this consensus that these fights were largely all mismatches and therefore not meaningful or entertaining. I would much prefer to see an awesome fighter like Diaz or GSP face a variety of styles and opponents than to have them face the same recycled opponents just because on paper they are the top contender. I don't want to see GSp fight Kos for a third or Fitch for a second, it means nothing and is bad match-making. Lets see what GSP can do against a completely different style. I think it should be the job of the Match-maker to find opponents who have the best chance of overthrowing the champ and not make fights based solely on who is rated number 2 at that moment.
All the favorites from last night were tested, none had an easy time.

I knew Diaz was tough before last night but after seeing him absorb the straights to the face and those vicious leg kicks, i am in awe of his durability and toughness.

I agree that they weren't necessarily mismatches cause Roger Gracie had alot on the line against Trevor Pragley. Walker also had no idea what to expect against his opponent until he actually fought. The two title fights could've been better but still a good card!
