Awesomely entertaining card
That was a wicked fun card top to bottom. Way to go Strikeforce. It would appear Strikeforce is gonna have a really strong 2011. Super fun fights!

Yeah, it looks like they are executing 2011 the right way. With the number of reserve bouts in the Grand Prix it looks like the tournament is going to be secure. If someone becomes anal then there may not be as good fights but still secure!

Not too big of a fan of mis-matches, Jacare is a top five middleweight and he's taking on someone who shouldn't even be ranked. Diaz isn't top ten, but Cyborg did nothing to get that title shot other than win one fight.
Atleast Roger looks like he might be a serious contender in the future.

Agreed, although of course the main card were all fun fights, there were a few mismatches on paper. Cyborg was on a 1 fight win streak in Strikeforce and has a very average record. While Lawler hasn't won two fights in a row since 2007/2008. Then there is of cause Hershel getting spoon fed and probably the only legit matchup of gracie vs prangley, which really showcased that in a year or so Gracie could be a serious threat.
But yeah it was enjoyable. I'm glad cyborg took it to the ground cause I love watching the Diaz ground game. Certainly found it funny how he took him down with 30 seconds left just trying to secure the round and ended up getting armbared.

I had honestly never seen Cyborg fight before last night but I must say I was definatly entertained by his style.. Threw bombs and kicked diaz's legs off, Definatly not gonna be a reigning champion but I would watch him fight again. As for Diaz, dudes as tough as they make em.. Stands in the pocket with bombs flying inches from his face, also he threw a combination of body shots and uppercuts while cyborg was against the cage that was just damn impressive IMO.

Agree with all of this.
One-sided fights don't really entertain me. The Jacare fight was solid...the others were pretty blah. It was an ok card.
Just like last card. You had Robbie vs. Linland...who is trying to stand? We got a Robbie KO.
Paul Daley in a striking match vs Scott Smith? We obviously got a Daley KO.
These fights are predictable and one-sided. Just because a fight is a finish, doesn't mean it is a good fight. Last night I sat down and didn't even watch an hour and a half of lopsided fights...

Strikeforce get a lot of finishes, but the main reason for that is due to the hugely mis-matched cards. Diaz vs Cyborg, Jacare vs Lawler, Henderson vs Babalu, Daley vs Smith, Lawler vs Lindland, Silva vs Kyle, etc etc. They've all been entertaining finishes, but only due to the enormity of the mis-match. Strikeforce's issue is that they do have some very talented guys, but after the Top 2 or 3 in each division (bar possibly HW) their divisions are incredibly thin and often made up of guys that couldn't make it in the UFC. I still enjoy watching their shows, as any MMA is good MMA, but I'm looking forward to seeing some cards that aren't almost entirely predictable on paper, which, frankly, the last 2 have.
