It is the tournament and the current champion is in it. The winner of this GP will be the real champion. K-1 has Kyotaro as HW champion, but who cares? K-1 World GP 2010 champion is the ultimate fighter in the world of kickboxing because Kyotaro was participating. Who can possibly suggest that Kyotaro is better than Overeem just because he has the belt and Alistair don't? The same could be said about Schilt, but it is slightly another story based on the fact that he is already 4-time GP champion, so it's not that clear... and another thing is, the tournament takes place in one day, I mean the most important bouts, so injuries is indeed a factor. Now, Strikeforce's tournament will last almost the entire year, so the winner will become the best fighter of the organization in the eyes of everyone, especially when you think that Alistair got the belt by beating Buentello and Rogers 2+ years later.

I agree that winning the GP is the most important thing in K-1. Alistair is ranked higher by everyone thanks to his win in the tournament. It's weird to see Kyotaro defend his belt the next time though, seeing as he lost to the monster Semmy in the GP and now lost to Mousasi under K-1 rules as well.
The winner of the tournament in Strikeforce is going to be the number one heavyweight fighter in SF without a doubt. Whether it's Barnett or not.

This is just sad. Really, Barnett had every chance to get his stuff in gear and still the BS continues.
I'm losing respect for the guy day by day. If he somehow doesn't fight in this GP tournament, I never want to hear his name again.

I think he's withdrawing the application because it may hurt his chances with other states. He's already been told from several states that they will let him fight as long as he passes the drug test they give before the fight.
Applying to CSAC and getting crap stirred by them could create problems. It's better for him to just avoid the CSAC altogether at this point.

Strikefarce at its finest. What a JOKE!
That said, I expect some of these fights to go down in Texas, where the likes of Antonio Margarito are allowed to fight after being denied in Vegas and California.
They could go back to Houston for one, maybe go to Japan or some other state for the next, then if he makes the final have it in Cowboys Stadium.

I really hope he gets a license.
I am still looking forward to Barnett subbing Rogers.

There's no other way to it. I'm afraid the other semi finalist might see the sub from Barnett as well.

God willing they just scrap Barnett and insert random guy from the first quarter-final's prelims in his place.
Perhaps that means "The Bum" will make it to the semi-finals? Wouldn't that be something, eh, eh? eh? no, it's stupid? this whole thing's a moronic turn of events almost everyone saw outside Strikeforce? yeah, I know...

Oh god. How horrific would that be?
Worst thing ever. Bum Rogers gets into the semis by default, then fights either a rematch with chinny Arshotsky or fat, out of shape, past it Kharitonov.
That said, I'd still favour both fighters over him, but even Bum Rogers could get lucky and TKO either fighter. They are just both ridiculously past it.
Bum Rogers in the finals... ...oh god. Then again, this all do the doing of Strikefarce, who purposely stacked one side of the bracket so they wouldn't get a boring or mismatched title fight like Overeem - Rogers II, or Overeem-Arlovsky, only to later decide the title wouldn't be on the line...
Good thing they have the alternate HW matches.
I'd favour even an alternate over Bum Rogers, which is sad because that's pretty much the likes of Shane Del Rosario...
Hell, if they got Warpath into the tournament, Bum Rogers would probably drop out in fear of almost losing to him again.
