Worst Possible Results

Is it just me who thinks that the tournament results are the exact opposite of what SF would have wanted. The big name of Fedor and Arlovski brutally beaten out, and although to big mma fans everyone knows Kharitonov is mean. But to casual fans none really know of the guy. Same with bigfoot.

This is what happens when SF tries to set up Fedor vs Overeem and its already backfired, that said I never had Silva to beat Fedor, but the size difference showed massively.

What u mean this is great...guys like wedum, overeem, rogers, silva now get to earn the respect that they don't get by being a sf fighter. Josh Barnett will win this.

Well no PPV for them they probably would have lost money on it anyways. I don't think it really matters overall Overeem was winning this either way and it will serve to elevate him for the UFC when they sign him immediately following the tournament.

For sure mate, for the fighters its great, but for SF as an org who wants to compete with the UFC it must surely suck. Fedor is one of their biggest draws and he is now set to retire most likely and arlovski is a much bigger and easier name to promote than kharitonov. I think the fact Coker desperately said he hopes Fedor could be an alternate for the tournament instead. I mean... they just had three fights to determine alternates.

This situation can easily be spun to Strikeforce's favor. Now they have the exact footage and news to create buzz around these "new" fighters. Fighters that the public doesn't know much about yet. These wins over Arlovski and Fedor only strengthen the rest of the Heavyweight division, specifically Kharitonov and Bigfoot. It makes it appear like a shark tank.

An interview with Ubereem about 2 weeks ago, he was asked if he'd ever sign for the UFC. HE said the UFC was the last belt he wants to win but it'd take alot of money for him to be exclusive. Luckily for Dana he has lots of money

Overeem is not the biggest name for casual fans but if and when he wins the tournament he would be a freaking cash register for the UFC.
Strikeforce HW Champ, Dream Interim HW Champ, K1 Champ and Strikeforce HW Tournament Champ.
Oh and there is the extra benefit of him being an exciting fighter with powerful striking, he looks like an plastic action figure and is well spoken.

$$$$$$$$$

I'm surprised SF didn't put Overeem and Fedor at the opposite ends of the brackets hoping they would both reach for a PPV-busting Main Event. The way they arranged it all, if Overeem wins, and Fedor won they would have to elimate one of those fighters in the Semi's...

...strange booking on their part.
