I can see him fighting the loser of the Werdum v Overeem fight on the semi final card.

With two losses Fedor's marketability for SF is on a rapid decline and yet you expect them to risk the credibility of the company and there ability to even be allowed to promote the sport in order to get him back in? Even if they wanted to they would be risking everything for a very minor effect on viewers if any.

There is no need for a fix, the injury rate in MMA is very high. The chances of an 8 man tournament, especially HW, going to completion without a significant injury are very low. Chances are someone will get injured or need surgery and there will be a replacement. I don't know that it would automatically be Fedor though, shouldn't it be Del Rosario?

Coker said that Fedor is probably fighting the winner of Werdum-Overeem. I'm going with that.

didn't Coker say that Fedor isn't the back up for the HW tourny if someone gets injured? He named someone else. might have been the guy Drogo mentioned.

(sorry, i can't seem to find the link i read that backs this up)

I agree.

I understand from a business aspect why they would want to bring back Fedor. But why have alternate matches if your just going to bring back someone who lost. I think by doing this you are going to have some fans lose interest in the tourny. We all know promoters rearly have MMA tournys go the why they hope, but IMO that is what makes them so fun. They are unpredicable.

On a side note Coker could be just putting Fedor's name out there as a possible replacement just to keep fair wheather fans interested in the remaining tourny matches. By keeping his name in the mix, Fedor fans may watch to see if someone goes down.

I think this is the more likely scenario. It's just like Spike/Dana were doing when Kimbo was on the ultimate fighter. Just trying to keep hope alive.
